Vapi for Agents · Agent Phone
Give your agent
a phone.
Ready-to-use calling. No Vapi API key required.
Agent Phone at phone.vapi.ai is a ready-to-use calling service, separate from the Vapi developer dashboard. No Vapi API key, developer dashboard setup, credit purchase, or phone-number setup is required. Agent Phone places the calls; your agent connects through MCP or HTTP with secure credential storage. You sign in and approve access in your browser, and the integration receives its credential automatically.
Already connected? Use phone for your authorized call, then phone_status for the result.
Need to connect? Add this MCP server to your agent’s app:
https://phone.vapi.ai/mcpMCP is how an agent connects to tools. Choose a remote HTTP connection in your app.
See setup instructions ↓Connect. Sign in. Make a call.
- User tells the agent to make a call.
The agent uses its connected phone tools, or helps add the server URL above.
- You approve access in your browser.
Your agent’s app opens login, or your agent shows you a connection link. Sign up or sign in and approve access, then return to your agent.
- The agent makes the authorized call.
When calling is available, it uses
phone, then checksphone_statusfor the outcome.
No Vapi dashboard, API key, credit purchase, or phone-number setup is needed. Never ask the user to paste a bearer token, API key, client secret, or password.

}Your app must support remote MCP with browser OAuth. Setup controls vary by client.
Ask your agent to connect
Copy this prompt to request setup. You complete sign-in and approve access in your browser. A device connection lasts 30 days, can be revoked, and permits future calls you request without another browser approval.
Help me connect you to Agent Phone at https://phone.vapi.ai for calls I request. Read https://phone.vapi.ai/llms.txt for the protocol. I want to set up the integration; I will complete sign-in and approve access in my browser. Use your native MCP connection if supported. Otherwise, if you can make HTTP requests and securely store credentials, start the device connection and show me the approval link. I understand that approving this grants a revocable 30-day credential to place calls and read my call results on this service. Store it using your supported credential storage after I approve. Verify the connection without placing a call, then report the result and how to disconnect. If your environment cannot support this, explain the specific missing capability.
The agent needs native MCP support or HTTP access with secure credential storage. The per-call browser approval option is currently limited to Meta Muse agents without connected phone tools; see the full instructions for that client-specific flow.
